Why Trustline
A verified business has had a real ID matched to its account. We keep the match, not the document.
A review is marked verified only when it comes from someone who actually dealt with that business here.
Businesses can publish what they charge, so you can rule somebody out before wasting either side’s time.
Searching, asking and messaging cost you nothing. Businesses pay for leads and placement, never you.
Before you ask
No. Searching, reading reviews, asking for quotes and messaging a business are all free and always will be. Businesses pay for leads and for placement; customers pay nothing, and we take no cut of the work.
No. Every listing, every price and every review is readable without signing in. You only need an account to message a business or post a job, because otherwise there is no way for them to reply to you.
A real identity document was checked against that account by a person. We keep the fact that it matched and delete the document, so the badge means somebody put their name behind the listing — not that we are storing a scan of their ID.
Only in the slot marked Sponsored, in that word. Everything else is ordered by match, rating, reply speed and distance. Nobody can buy a rating, a review or a badge.
Reviews from somebody who contacted the business through Trustline are marked as such — we can see that the conversation happened. A business can dispute any review, and one the reviewer cannot back up is removed.
Trustline introduces you; the agreement is between you and the business. If something goes wrong, leave an honest review and tell us — a business with a pattern of complaints is removed. We cannot get your money back, and we will not pretend we can.
It depends on the business, which is why every listing shows how fast that one usually answers, measured from real conversations rather than from what they say about themselves. Many answer within the hour.
Nothing. A listing with your trades, area, hours, prices and photographs is free. You only pay if you choose to take on a posted job, or bid for a spot at the top of your trade.
All of it — from the CBD out to Borrowdale, Chitungwiza, Kuwadzana and Waterfalls. Most trades come to you, so searching a suburb does not hide them: a plumber based in Borrowdale still turns up for a job in Avondale. Where a business is only matters when you are the one travelling — a salon or a garage — and those are listed by how far away they are.
Never on a listing, and never to another user. It is your username and how we send you a code when you join. A business only sees your name and what you write to them.
For businesses
A free listing with your trades, your area, your opening hours and your prices. People searching Harare for what you do will find it, and message you straight from the page.
USD 20 of free credit for the first 100 businesses
Fill your listing in properly, have your ID checked, and the credit is on your account — 100 places are left. Bring another business with you and you both get USD 10 more. Credit buys leads and placement here; it is not cash and cannot be withdrawn.
A note from whoever built this
Trustline is new, and small, and run by people you can actually reach. If a listing is wrong, a business has closed, or something about the site does not work, say so — it gets read by someone who can fix it rather than filed.
